Prosperity is Not Our Goal

Isaiah 1:19 teaches us that prosperity is not our goal in life but is a by-product of obedience. Financial prosperity for the Christian is not a choice, it is your heritage and your birth right. However that does not mean that you will necessarily enjoy prosperity. You need to first discover or know your birth right to enjoy it. We are already financially prosperous by birth right and do not need to fight or struggle for financial prosperity. 

For instance a British born student ignorantly paying foreign student fees at a British University. He must realise that as an indigenous Briton, it is his right to pay no or reduced fees.  Remember, none of God's children were born not to do well. Our heritage is to do well.

 Ecclesiastes 5:10 tells us that it is futile to love cash or abundance, as there is no satisfaction in them. 

The enemy will always ensure that you have things you chase instead of serving God. It is your wisdom to quit chasing tangible things and focus on the intangible because the tangible is a product of the intangible.

 We serve a God who is more than enough. God gave quails to the Israelites in the wilderness of which they ate their fill when they wanted meat.  No money was expended by God or the Israelites to gain the quail. 

Do not trust in the earthly economy to meet your needs.  Hebrews 4:10 lets us know that those who have entered God's rest have ceased from their labours.

If God can get funds through you a ready vessel, he can get funds to you. Abraham was blessed by God to be a blessing. The goal is to be a blessing, not to be blessed because we were born blessed when we got born again.

CONFESSIONS

I am a blessing to my work, church and the kingdom of God.

I am a vessel of God's blessing.

I am a channel of God's blessing.

Funds are coming through me to be channeled.

I am rich, poverty is not in my DNA.

Money

Money plays an important role in the lives of every human being. The importance of money cannot be overemphasized. Without money, man will not be able to enjoy the basic things of life like food, shelter and clothing. Now, the question is what is money? Is money currency? As you begin the New Year, it is important to note that money is not necessarily currency. 

What is Currency?

Currency is a form of money. For example if you look at the face of pound sterling note of any denomination, you will read "I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of £5, £10, £20 and £50".  The note is therefore not actual money but a Promissory note.  Money is invisible and is an intangible thing, a mind concept.

In Genesis 25:29-34 we see that Esau sold his birth right to his brother Jacob for a single meal.  Esau did not understand the value of his birth right and placed more value on the tangible rather than the intangible. A birth right is invisible and cannot be seen. The value of Esau's birth right is quantified to an extent when Isaac before he died called his son Esau to bless him. 

No human being was born poor; they became poor. God did not create a poor man whether born again or not; Adam was not born again yet He was not poor.  We need to understand that poverty is not the absence of cash (money).

Poverty is a mindset created by man. You don't need physical cash to live a comfortable life.  

In Genesis we see that when God wanted to create the earth, he did not spend money but he "spoke" creation in to being. Your word is your cash/currency and as a child of God it is the greatest form of money you can possess.

In Acts 3 we read that Peter and John went to the temple to pray and they found a lame man at the gate called Beautiful who they gave the word, "silver or gold I do not have but what I have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk". The word of God was of more value to the man because it changed his life whereas silver or gold would have run out and his situation would be unchanged.

Money is not limited to cash. The words that you speak produce for you whatever you desire. Do not limit yourself to pounds and pence otherwise you will be limited to the world's economies. 

Certain riches are quantified in real estate, intellectual property and the like. Banking and cash systems are operated by man and you do not have any control over them. 

Therefore reliance on them is not wise. Instead, you should put your trust in the word of God. Never let anyone determine how far you go in life; your employers, the government, politicians etc. We have already established that the economy is set to restrict people's wealth growing therefore the world economy is unreliable.

Wealth is Your Birth Right

Wealth is for you if you want it. It is as profound as it is simple. I have always considered that if we ignored the abundances of the universe and human potential, we actually minimize God’s creative hand and in turn, limit our own life’s power.

It is plain for all to see that the earth and human life is more than abundant. There are more animals, sun, air and water that we can use. And there are more ideas, intellect, motivation and wisdom locked within ourselves, simply waiting for release through faith.
